Rachel is passionate about sharing knowledge that empowers people with the skills to meet life’s challenges.
She has three workshop offerings and regularly teachers from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast, or as online workshops if required.
WORKSHOP 1
Vagus Nerve Mastery- Body based techniques for stress resilience (2hrs)
In this workshop, Rachel helps to clarify the important relationship between stress and our body physiology. She teaches how the vagus nerve is the epicentre of the mind-body connection, and how you can increase stress resilience through clinically proven neural exercises that help to shift the body into a more relaxed and focused state.
You will learn simple techniques for working with your vagus nerve, which can be utilised to manage stress, reduce chronic pain and improve focus and attention. This workshop presents essential cutting edge scientific information about stress management and is an antidote to our busy lives.
WORKSHOP 2
Breathing for relaxation (1.5hrs)
In this workshop, Rachel explains how posture and breathing technique have an incredible effect on your ability to breathe effectively, and the far reaching effects of correct breathing on your health and wellbeing.
The workshop guides the attendees through stretches and mobility exercises that improve spinal and rib cage movement and shows them how to optimise their posture and breath from their diaphragm.
This workshop is excellent for people working within a busy corporate environment, detailing skills that can be used throughout the day to improve productivity, stress resilience and workplace performance.
WORKSHOP 3
Birth With Confidence (2hrs)
A birth preparation workshop for mothers and their support people.
Birth with confidence workshops are for those who would like to gain some practical skills in preparation for labour, from an osteopath’s perspective. The class is delivered in a casual workshop style, tailored to your birthing goals and preferences. The classes are a mixture of learning active/hands on techniques and information about managing the birth environment to improve your birth experience.
Topics covered include:
Setting personal birthing goals and how to improve chances of reaching them
Preparing your body and mind for labour/birth planning
Physiology of labour and how to facilitate an efficient labour -How to work with your body during labour (Physiological management of pain through positioning, breathing exercises, relaxation techniques).
Hands on techniques and tactics for the birth support team \-Effective Pushing practice! How to biomechanically push your baby out without strain.
How to navigate the hospital environment to maximize your chances of birthing without unnecessary intervention
